Hewlett Packard wants .HP from ICANN

Hewlett Packard better known as HP wants ICANN to reconsider the rule that top level domain names must be at least three characters. Which means Hewlett Packard could not get .HP. Two character top level domain names are currently reserved for country code domain names.

In a letter to ICANN they state their case:

We believe that ICANN’s proposed rule puts HP in the disadvantaged position preventing Hewlett Packard from securing .hp while our competitors will be able to apply for their respective specialized new gTLDs…In addition, we would like to ensure that we want to ensure that HP will also be able to acquire IDNS without 2-character limit.

Viliv S5 reviewed by Pocketables

After all the first looks Pocketables has posted a review of the Viliv S5 Umpc. She had mixed feelings abou the S5 saying:

The Viliv S5 Premium has so much going for it (build quality, performance, battery life, size/weight, versatility, price, etc.) that at a glance, it would seem almost impossible for anyone not to love it, want it, and buy it. But here I stand, fully aware of how remarkable the S5 is and why so many consumers can't wait to have one as their own, yet still not wanting one as my own. The dealbreaker for me, personally, is the form factor. I just prefer slider and clamshell UMPCs/MIDs with hardware keyboards: simple as that.

If, however, the slate style appeals to you, then you'd be hard-pressed to find anything better than the Viliv S5.
