Google sells back 5% of AOL to Time Warner


Google who bought 5% stake in AOL awhile back has sold the stake back to Time Warner. The initial investment was for 1 billion dollars. Google sold it back for $283 million on July 8. So this ends ties with AOL for Google.

If your Bill Gates you must be popular, right? Well Bill Gates thinks so, and that is the reason he stopped using Facebook. 10,000 people want to be your friends and it's not worth answering requests.

Microsoft games revenues fall by 3%

Xbox 360 and PC games has fallen by USD 161 million (3 per cent). MS states that the reason for the fall was the price drop of the console.

Worker dies over missing iPhone

A guy in China lost a missing prototype of an fourth gen iPhone and apparently took his own life. Now there are two sides to this story. The worker side is that they search his apartment, then beat him which led to his suicide. While the company states that no beating took place.

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has decided enough was enough and deleted his Twitter account. Reznor felt posters were using his personal life against him.

Another day and another bankuptcy, this time from Polymer Vision. Polymer Vision who actually had a decent idea of the Readius ebook reader folds under tough times. 50 employees will be heading to unemployment.

Everex shuts it's doors in the US


Everex US shuts down after not getting a ground with their Cloudbook netbook.

According to the company themselves, the US operations are now closed and they are “in the processor of liquidation of all our assets”. It’s unclear whether the liquidation will affect Everex Japan or Taiwan; neither site has any mention of their US sibling’s closure.

VLC 1.0.0

Popular media player VLC is finally out of beta and now at 1.0.0. Anytime I can't play a file in windows media player, I look to VLC which plays quite a few formats smoothly.
