Amazon will be acquiring Woot.com deal site. TechCrunch is stating that the sale will be for $110 million. For Woot it will remain business as usual.

Google Me to be Facebook Alternative


According to Kevin Rose, Google will launch a Facebook competitor called Google Me. This makes sense since people are spending more time on Facebook than using Google search. Adam D'Angelo former Facebook CTO also says that Google Me is real and that Google has a lot of resources invested into it.

ARM debuts Sparrow multicore netbook processor


MWC '09 we're getting our first look at Sparrow, a Cortex A9 processor aimed squarely at netbook manufacturers. This is a multi-core update to the Cortex A8, and maybe the chip in the next gen iPhone. Toshiba, Pegatron and Wistron are all said to be showing demos of their ARM-powered netbooks at the conference this year, with a company spokesman saying that Ubuntu for ARM will go public in April.
